The LLM Prompt Guide series is a collection of notes on my applications of prompts, aimed at building foundational knowledge in the practical application of prompts. It serves both as a record and a sharing medium.

What’s the ‘Prompt’?

Prompts are commands issued by users to generative AI, enabling it to analyze and respond to user needs based on its natural language understanding capabilities. A single prompt can yield numerous results, but the quality of these results depends on the quantity and completeness of information provided. A prompt may include instructions or questions, as well as additional context, input, or examples, allowing for more precise guidance of the model and subsequently better outcomes.
A prompt can take the form of either an ‘instruction’ or a ‘question and answer’, or even a combination of both, allowing you to tailor it according to the specific task you want the AI to accomplish.
